OI Magazine - N° 33 - March 2023

During Milan Fashion Week, the White Show returned to Milan featuring new brands and an increasingly international edition. Among the partners this year, in addition to the Municipality of Milan, were Confartigianato Imprese and Ice. “Sustainability is present throughout the production chain in the fashion sector, creating fashion that places people at the center by protecting them through the use of sustainable materials,” emphasized Hon. Fabio Petrella at the inauguration of the White Show. He also added, “Among the reasons for the success of Italian fashion, we must underline the excellent craftsmanship, sartorial tradition, and precious materials that are synonymous with Made in Italy.” Meanwhile, Dr. Brenda Bellei Bizzi, CEO of White, highlighted how Italy is leading in sustainability throughout the production chain. Achieving sustainability is also possible through Research and Development programs supported by the Italian Government and the PNRR. What were the trends of this Milan Fashion Week? As all over the world, first of all there is a strong return to sensuality, from refined to exhibited and declared sensuality. Sensuality and tailoring, high-level quality tailoring, elegant but with something extra, because never as in this season does the woman communicate her sensuality through her dress, which is evident from one runway to another, between bustiers and slits, slip dresses, lace, and transparencies that highlight the female body. And then also stiletto heels but also cuissard, which are high and thin-heeled women’s boots that wrap around the leg up to the thigh, also in bright colors. Already anticipated in the summer runways, the long and elegant skirt officially becomes the must-have in the Autumn Winter 2023 2024 shows in Milan. From Prada to Fendi, it is the new trend dug up from the past and celebrates the style of the ‘90s icons. But lengths are also protagonists in other garments such as coats and shirts. The knitted dress continues to be the key piece that must not be missing in a woman’s wardrobe even in the upcoming seasons.
